Interview

Applied via BCBSM career site online. Heard from recruiter about a week later, who scheduled a phone screening with myself and the hiring manager. Met with the hiring manager and we discussed what the position involved, team dynamic, and whether it'd be a good fit. Briefly walked through my resume and talked about my basic qualifications for the role. Once we agreed it'd be a good fit, I scheduled the final round interview. Final round was 2 hours. The first hour focused on behavioral questions that a panel of 3 managers presented to me. I asked questions after I addressed all of theirs. The second hour of the interview involved two case study questions. I had to think out loud and walk a manager through my approach. The manager was really interactive and made the experience fun. Even though everyone was a pleasure to speak with, this was not an interview you could slack on and preparation was key. Everyone I met with was super personable and they asked thoughtful follow up questions to get to know me. They were also honest when I asked them to reveal aspects that they didn't like about the job. Got a call with an offer the day after my final round. They made it clear they wanted me for the role and I appreciated the no nonsense approach. All interviews were conducted on Microsoft Teams.

• -We see you went from a technical-oriented role to one focused on soft skills. What was the hardest part of that shift?
• -Walk us through a time you had a major failure.

Got to the next interview, several after that, made it to the last interview; did not end up getting the job though. It was between me and some other person.
